The New Zealand National women's basketball team makes a tour of many West Coast colleges from November 5th to 15th.
The tour is organized by Basketball Travellers, Inc. (BTI), a company that specializes in arranging tours of women's teams between the US and other countries. The New Zealand team is only one of 35 overseas team tours organized by BTI this year. The following information about the team was provided by BTI.

New Zealand has toured the United States on two previous occasions. In 1995, they
finished with a 7-3 record. In 1996, they finished 9-1. This team will represent
the Oceania Zone in the 2000 OlympIcs in Sydney, Australia, The New Zealand team
most recently competed in the William Jones Cup in Taiwan and won the Silver Medal.
Players to Watch: Two sisters on the team are Gina and Sally Farmer. They, along
with Rebecca Cotton, played basketball in Oklahoma. Kirsten Egan played at Colorado
State and Susan Bocock currently plays in New Mexico. Julie Ofsoski, Tracy Kelly
and Aneka Kerr all play in Australian Basketball Leagues.
Coach Carl Dickel has been coaching the National Womenís team since 1995 and was
Assistant Coach at the 1994 World Championship event.
